Building Your Family Story Using Microsoft Word

If you enjoyed Janet Dugart’s October 2023 KGS program, “Putting the pieces Together—Publishing Your Family History,” you will certainly want to sign up for her workshop “Building Your Family Story Using Microsoft Word”. Janet taught computers to middle and high school students for more than ten years which makes her very qualified to teach us. She will be offering this workshop to show you how to build your family story using tips and tricks on Microsoft Word.

Some of the skills covered will be:

  • inserting pictures with text boxes and grouping them so you can move them together
  • how to fade pictures for background use
  • take screen shots, crop and save them as a picture
  • insert and center tables
  • numbering and adding hard page breaks
  • insert a table of contents

Bring your laptop to actively participate or if you do not have a laptop,  Janet will be demonstrating on a screen and will provide a handout with instructions so you can apply them at home on your computer.

Saturday, February 10, 2024, 10am — 12pm

The workshop will be held in the classroom at the Guadalupe Basin Natural Resources Center, 125 Lehmann Street in Kerrville (where the Research Center & Library are located).  Donation paid at the door:  $10 cash or check to Kerrville Genealogical Society for members; $15 non-members. Call 830-315-1836 to put your name on the list.
